Question: Appropriate movie for kids!?
Is Ghostbusters and appropriate movie for a 5yr old and a 7yr old!? It said it is rated PG, but that was in the 1980s!. Thanks!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I would say no!.!.!. I find older movies ratings would be different if they got today's rating!. A pg in the 80's might be a pg13 today!. You should review it with out them first!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
No!. It's rated PG due to language, graphic violence, and some sexual content!. Really it should have been rated PG-13!.
Throughout the movie Peter Venkman (Bill Murray) tries to seduce Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver)!. When Dana is possessed by Zuul, she tries to seduce Peter, and at one point even says "I want you inside me!." also when the guys prepare to fight Gozer before it becomes the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, Peter instructs the others to get their proton packs ready, and the sticks used to fire!. There's a bit of sexual innuendo in that scene!.
Now the animated series "The Real Ghostbusters" might be a bit more appropriate!. If you can find that on DVD, then get that!. also the movie "Casper" featuring Christina Ricci might be a bit more suitable!.
There may be some scary moments for kids, mainly some of the ghosts and ghouls that appear throughout the movie, especially after the containment unit shuts down and explodes!.
There's also some language throughout the movie, like when the guys fight Gozer after it takes form of the woman, Peter says "let's show this prehistoric b**** how we do things downtown!" At another point Peter goes to Dana's apartment, checks out the refrigerator (where she saw the demon that said "Zuul"), and when he finds nothing, Dana curses and indicates that none of the food was in the fridge, that it was just the building and the demon!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i think they would find it pretty boring cuz its an old movie, butt i guess its suitable and kids these days have seem pretty much everything
