instead got killed by Maul!. Why!? I mean, in a lightsaber dual, Qui gon seems to be much more skillful compared to Maul!.

Of the three, Qui-Gon was much more knowledgeable in the force, but not necessarily better in a duel!. Qui-Gon knew that he needed to fight with Obi-Wan to beat Maul, just as Obi-Wan knew he needed to fight with Anakin to beat Dooku on Genosis in Episode II!. Maul, if nothing else, was excellent in a duel!. Obi-Wan actually lost to him!. He just found something to hold on to when he fell!. Maul was toying with him!. He became arrogant when Obi-Wan was hanging there!. He didn't think there was any way for him to get out of there!. I'm sure that if he would have hung there a little longer, Maul would have force pushed him into the pit!. Obi-Wan just didn't give up as quickly as Maul hoped!. He caught Maul by surprise and sliced him in half!. Obi-Wan won because Maul got careless!. If Maul had just killed him when he had the chance, the whole Star Wars universe would have been differemtWww@Enter-QA@Com
The answer is simple!. Darth Maul is totally awesome!. Of is totally awesome!!! Darth Maul had two blades for Qui-Gon to deal with!. Without his much more powerful Padawan, (unfortunately) he didn't stand a chance!. I love Qui-Gon!. But Darth Maul is just amazing! He can do that weird Monkey-Jujitsu thing while he is fighting! So cool!. The coolest and most developed Sith is however, Darth Vader, but I digress!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

& Darth Maul was weakened by Qui Gon when his padawan went to fight him!. The padawan Obi Won or however it is spelt was so angry that the force within him grew!.

Because George Lucas was writing the film and then said "Oh Crap!.!.!.i have to get rid of Qui-Gon somehow!.!.!.!.Kenobi trains Skywalker!.!.!.!.I know lets kill him off"!. I knew from the start of the movie that Qui-Gon was a goner!. Beside Kenobi is a very skilled swordsman!.!.!.not as much as say Mace Windu!.!.!.!.but very skilled, and Maul SUCKS!
