Answers:
Martin Scorsese -- A living legend whose films have such a large following, and whose clout in Hollywood is so powerful, every film he directs gets nominated for either an acting award, directing award, best picture award, or all three!.

Steven Spielberg -- well, because it's Spielberg!

Paul Thomas Anderson -- his knowledge of directing and the memorable five films he's written and directed (Hard Eight, Boogie Nights, Magnolia, Punch Drunk Love, There Will Be Blood) is reminiscent of the early work of the young Scorsese, Coppola and Spielberg!.

The Coen Bros!. -- Their quirky films have been around for a while and are definitely cult classics, and Hollywood is recently coming around to noticing how creative they are!. And after the Oscar winning "No Country For Old Men", it just shows that they haven't gone "all Hollywood" on us!.

James Cameron -- Although he has not made a film in over a decade, his films are so memorable and so powerful, how many directors do you know who can make a film where 90 percent of the cast dies, and it still manages to become the highest grossing film of all time!?

Clint Eastwood -- An actor who has worked with the best directors (Sergio Leone, John Sturges, Wolfgang Peterson, Don Siegel), and has directed the best actors (Sean Penn, John Malkovich, Tommy Lee Jones, James Woods, Angelina Jolie), Eastwood is certifiably a living legend!.

Peter Jackson -- His ability to transport actors into the fantasy world and make it a reality for his audience is as revolutionary as George Lucas was back in the seventies' with the first "Star Wars"!.

Ang Lee -- He has done many, and I mean MANY genres of films, such as period pieces (Sense and Sensibility, The Ice Storm), western (Ride With The Devil), martial arts (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), erotic (Lust, Caution), comic book (Hulk), and yes, even homosexual (Brokeback Mountain)!. And the amazing thing about it is that they all work on every level!.

Woody Allen -- most of his recent films haven't been as successful or critically acclaimed as the films he made in the 1970's or 80's, but his neurotic influence is still being felt in the films and tv shows of today!.

Quentin Tarantino -- Although he may never top his own great "Pulp Fiction", his love of watching and making films shows in all of his movies, and has obviously rubbed off on many wannabe filmmakers of today!. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is still to be seen, but for every film he directs, there will always be ten half-assed attempts by other young directors at another "Reservoir Dogs", "Pulp Fiction", or "Kill Bill"!. In descending order: Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Woody Allen, Clint Eastwood, Joel Coen, Rob Reiner, Tim Burton, Christopher Nolan, James Cameron and Ridley Scott!.

In some cases (especially the top three), their best films are behind them, but they're still out there making the movies!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
