This movie must have come out in the Fifties or Sixties!. The title was the name of the main character, a young woman!. It was a sort of awful Peyton Place sort of soap opera!. The young woman gets pregnant, her mother pretends it's her child, there's a fire, the truth comes out, the rich fiance won't marry her now -- I guess it was some kind of moral tale for girls and young women!. After 10 years of service as a mining engineer in Chile, Roger Slade sets sail for Carmel, California, with his wife Leah, and their 17-year-old daughter, Susan!. Once in Carmel, Susan meets Wells Corbett, the son of her father's employer, and Hoyt Brecker, an aspiring author!. On the day of her parents' housewarming party, Susan learns that she is pregnant and sends a frantic wire to Conn!.
