Answers:
The sex scenes you see in films are almost 100% faked!. The actors are just acting!.They are not actually doing it!. The only exception I know of in a non-adult film was the scene in The Brown Bunny!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

They're acting!

There are a few films though where it's rumoured that the sex scenes are 'real'!.!.!. 'Don't Look Now' a film that was from the 70's I think, has a sex scene between Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie and it's rumoured that they actually 'did it'!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It depends!. In "Angel Heart" Mickey Rourke got really close to having sex on camera

In other instances, the ability to remain "romantic" is tough with all the crew hanging aroundWww@Enter-QA@Com

No they are not really doing it!.
Yes they are good fakers because they are professional actors!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

A year or two ago there was a film with BUS in the title that contained actual sex scenes!.
Never saw it but there was a lot written about it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

You may already have an answer you like-- I already see six here, and I didn't read them so my answer would be untainted!.

No! When the actors really have sex, that's how you differentiate PORN from a regular movie!. In movies like unfaithful that are very graphic, making it seem super real: they wear very skimpy, flesh colored thongs and other flesh- colored apparell that keeps them partly covered!. Sometimes they actually shoot quick one or two- second parts to edit in a graphic shot of nudity!. It can be very complicated how a director edits together a believable and sexy looking sex scene!. Plus, it all has to be done on a closed set, and abide by each actor's specific demands (for instance: an actress may have a "no nipple" clause; whatever they want really) and be careful where they shoot; they also have to keep the actors comfortable!. I've heard of many instances (in Fatal Attraction for instance) where an actress or actor decides at the last minute to take things a little further than they'd stipulated earlier, so sometimes the continuity is compromised a tad (and the audience doesn't really notice b/c they're focused on the sexiness) willingly to add more to the scene!.

I specifically wanted to answer your question b/c I had an example of a movie where a sexual act was truly committed (not faked) and it caused a great amount of controversy-- more for people calling the director a jerk and a perv than saying anything negative about the actress who was filmed!. I am talking about the indie film that premiered at a festival (Sundance, I think!?) several years ago: Vincent Gallo's "The Brown Bunny"!. It starred Vincent Gallo, the eccentric actor, writer and director who makes and stars in his own small films (Buffalo ''66 w/ him and Christina Ricci is his best, worth watching) and his real life girlfriend at the time, Chloe Sevigny (from the HBO show Big Love, the movie Kids, and "Boys Don't Cry")!. In the movie, which got awful reviews and I never saw, Sevigny is filmed performing REAL fellatio on Vincent Gallo, his idea!. He was universally panned for it; he's already got a bad rep as a guy who doesn't respect or like women anyways!. They said, as a director-- which is the worst part, he used her, disrespected her and made her look trashy, plus detracted from the film all so he could show his girlfriend giving him a real b!.j!., make him look like "the man", etc!.

He got into a war of words, back and forth, through the press, with Roger Ebert, the critic, who panned the movie badly!. Ebert said "Brown Bunny" was one of the worst movies he'd ever seen!. EVER!. Gallo then called Ebert a fatso in the press!. Ebert came back with (almost a direct quote, so I'll use quotation marks): "I may be fat, but I can lose weight!. But you'll always be the guy who wrote and directed "The Brown Bunny" and you can't do anything about it!."

To make a long story a bit shorter, look at the kind of controversy that was caused by a small, indie film when it used real fellatio, not even real sex!. Hope that helps give you some perspective when it comes to movie, not porn, sex scenes!. Makes you appreciate the work of the directors, like Adrienne Lynn of "Unfaithful", a lot more, huh!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
