Question: How come that Spielberg's 2004 movie "The Terminal" was a great success everywhere except in the states!?
A Rotten Tomatoes review said that it didn't appeal the american audience, but was well received everywhere else; but I don't get why!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

1!. It was a relatively boring movie, i!.e!., no vulgarity, no nudity, no violence, no gore, and no car chase--all the elements that the younger viewing audience has come to expect!.
2!. The principle character used a fictitious language from a fictitious country--something most of us thought was too contrived but foreigners may have found this amusing!.
3!. Many people probably couldn't identify with Tom Hank's character in that he came all the way to America JUST to get an autograph to complete his father's collection!.
4!. Foreigners probably thought that it was pretty amazing that someone could actually live in an American airline terminal for several months and really not complain of hardship!. We Americans don't know just how good we've got it here!. How would you like to live, instead, in a tent or cardboard shanty with your nearest water supply maybe a quarter of a mile away!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
