The girl being terrorized throughout the film actually turns out to be the man who killed that girl and her boyfriend!. He is in Hell and has to relive the pain and terror he put his victim through repeatedly!. Sometimes the scenario changes so that "she" thinks there's a chance for escape, but "she" always dies~meaning he experiences what it's like to die at his own hands!. That's what makes this rise above the rest!
What is especially tormenting is that he goes through what this girl in an average day~high school classes, being with her boyfriend, working at an obviously boring job, simply being a teenage girl!. At the end, when the mother is revealed to be part of the punishment!. Oh! The killer also has to relive his own death, too, once he remembers!. Then, he goes back to being the girl, doomed to be murdered repeatedly!.
At IMDb, there was some debate about the confusion that the girl herself is reliving this, but it's definitely not true!. We can assume the spirits of the girl and her boyfriend are at rest!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
