PLEASE ANSWER

Why can't one actor be nominated in the same category and the same year twice for two different performances if they are both worth of an academy nomination!?

Even if it's the same person, the performances are different and in different movies

tnx!

I looked it up, is it Rule 6!? They don't give a reason!. I guess it's just an issue of wanting different actors to have a go!. But you're right, if somebody did two great performances, it would seem a bit unfair!.

Composer John Williams has been nominated twice in the same category, several times actually!. It's weird how the rule only applies to actors!. http://us!.imdb!.com/name/nm0002354/awards

i don't know if there's a rule against that!. i think the academy votes on who did the best performances and then the top 5 are judged!. it's probably just rare if someone gets 2 nominations!. the other way they might nominate is for the actors to choose their best performance and then its voted on!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
