Movie title help please?!

I don't really remember much about it!. I think it was about this high school aged guy!. It opened with his brothers funeral, I think his brother committed suicide!. And his mother asked him to tell her it wasn't her fault he did it!. And his brother was an athlete if I remember right, like on the swim team!. And then his girl friend committed suicide!. I don't know if this really makes sense!. This is really bugging me! Please help!. : )
