Please explain this movie to me?!

Question: Please explain this movie to me!?
When the first highlander movie came out it was my favorite, and I continue to like it, as well as the series!. Anyways I'm so confused! In the first one, Connor won the "prize"!.!.ok got that!. Was it the second one where the immortals were from a different planet!.!.!.and if Connor won the prize, why are there more immortals!?!? Ok next, Connor has a child in the second movie I think!. Then again he supposedly won the prize and could have a kid, yet he's fighting more immortals who love to say "there can be only one" I'm not done yet!!!.!.!.!.I just watched the Highlander; The Source movie last night!. Ok Duncan is fighting for the "prize" with some of the cast-mates from the series!. I'm about to give away the end so stop here if you're wanting to watch it!.!.!.!.!.he wins the "prize" and the prize is to be able to have children!?!? So, there's doesn't really HAVE to be only one, just only one that can have kids, but Connor already did this!!!
Please explain what I'm missing!! I haven't watched the movies in a while so I could be off on some things!. I guess I need to rent them all and sit down for a weekend haha!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The first Highlander movie was written in a way that pretty much explained what was going on and the story had a conclusion: the Prize was to be human and help humanity better understand itself!. As to the origins of the "immortals" no explanation was given but for Connery's line: "!.!.!.Why does the sun come up!? Are the stars just pinholes in the curtain of night!? Who knows!.!.!.!?"
And so when it was time to do a second movie ( because the first was so popular- and that was the only reason beside maybe expounding on the origins ) the writers decided to have the "immortals" come from a different planet thus showing the expulsion of McCleod and Ramirez for leading a rebellion as an intro the Highlander: The Quickening!. Connor is then an old man, doing what he was supposed to do from his finding out of what the Prize was from the first movie!. Then the magic of cinema is introduced when he gets attacked by two henchmen sent from his planet by a renegade ( Michael Ironside ) thirsty for power and wanting to rule Earth and McCleod is transformed back to his younger self by the Quickening!. Another "kind of magic" happens when Connor calls out to Ramirez and the latter appears back to earth in his former glory!. No sound explanation is given for his resuscitation!
The series The Highlander are, to my knowledge, not connected to the first two movies for the exception that the main character Duncan is supposed to be Connor's cousin- go figure, I never liked the series - and he too is immortal - imagine that - and so do the weekly episodes run for a few seasons!.!.!.
Meanwhile, on the big screen comes Highlander 3, The final dimension and Connor is seen still young from his quickened life in the second movie and still apt at decapitating immortal thugs!. He now has a son, since he got the Prize, but now a crazy Mongolian type of immortal has come back from his entombment ( Mario Van Peebles ) and is after - what else - the Prize!.!.!. Even though he's a few years late! ( now it seems that the third movie belongs after the first and second ones but at this point I'm thinking that even the producers and the rest of the crews lost track of the whole affair and are just chugging along for the ride as the rest of us!.!.!.
And just when we think it cannot get more complicated than that along comes Highlander: Endgame!. This time both Connor and his cousin are back at the chopping block!. The story follows Duncan MacLeod as he confronts Jacob Kell, a renegade Immortal who has assembled a group of fellow warriors who holds a centuries-old grudge against the elder Connor MacLeod, Connor has spent a decade trying to escape the "Game" in a hidden Watcher fortress known as the Sanctuary, but he and Duncan are forced to confront this new threat that neither one of them alone can succeed against!. As the two MacLeods will not break the single-combat tradition, Connor convinces Duncan to kill him, thus gaining the power that he needs to defeat Kell!.
By then, the audience is sure that the Immortals are finally put to rest and the Quickening is done playing its magic but wait, the franchise still has something up its sleeve: Highlander: The Source! Duncan McCleod and his accolades must now combat another fool from thousands of years ago rendered almost invincible by his treacherous plot to be "the One" along with another hideous friend of his turned oracle to McCloud in order that only McCleod recieves the Prize!.!.!. I'm guessing that since Connor died the Prize was still up for grabs but then again Connor did become mortal so really his giving of the Quickening to his cousin in Endgame should not have happened and since!.!.!. But anyways, " it's a kind of magic!."Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's a pretty far-fetched series of movies!. It's best not to take it so seriously!.

The first "Highlander" movie worked because it set up a mythology, with a competition between immortals, a set of rules for their fighting, etc!.

But in order to make sequels, they had to break the rules of the first movie, in order to continue the story!. That's greed for you!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's pretty much been said that the second movie is not to be considered as part of the cannon of the series as it completely destroyed where the creator wanted to take the series!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
