He said that if you have an explosion, you scare the audience for a moment!. If you build up to it, then they squirm for longer!.
Yopu let the audience see the bomb under a chair!. the hero sits in that chair and it looks like he is not going to leave it!. he makes a few fake out to leave it, but he gets right back in the chair!. the timer gets less and less time on it!. It isn't until the last, very last, moment, that he escapes destruction!.

The films seem rather timid and ordinary to us now because we've been pummelled with special effects and shock-value horror films!. But Hitchcock was a masterful creator of suspense and someone who utilitzed camera angles, hidden cuts, and other techniques before anyone else!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
