Rope (1948) is an Alfred Hitchcock classic film notable for its single location, edited so as to appear as a single continuous shot, taking place in real time!. It is the first of Hitchcock's films that was made in Technicolor!. Starring James Stewart

It was "Rope" starring James Stewart and Farely Granger!. It was the first pairing of Stewart and Hitch, who got on famously with each other!. The film(which seems so somewhat static and stagy now) is the first film Hitch attempted to film scenes in secession using one camera for a span of ten minutes each(the length of time film took to unspool) It was a novel idea that drove the crew, set designers and cast crazy however, because if something went wrong, they would have to begin all over again!. The story concerns two men(who are read as gay by most audiences now,but not so much then)who commit murder just to see if they can get away with it!. They have a party and among the guest id their former professor, who slowly begins to think that they have indeed, committed murder(The body is hidden in a trunk that serves as a buffet table!) He tried this technique once again a few years later than dropped it entirely!. The film was "Under Capricorn" and even with Ingrid Bergman and Joseph Cotten, did poorly at the box office, one of his very few flopsWww@Enter-QA@Com
