Gargoyles or Chimera are winged demon looking things!. A true Gargoyle serves as a waterspout to direct water away from buildings!. Were as the Chimera is purely ornamental!. The dogs in Ghostbusters are guardians of the world of the dead and are what's called "Hell Hounds"!. You may have heard stories that to defeat a Hell Hound you have to cross moving water or put salt behind it's ear!. And you never want to meet a Hell Hound at a crossroads because that's where Satan and his demons are supposed to be the strongest!. (See Robert Johnson's and Eric Clapton's song "Crossroads"!.
