Help me figure out this movie!?!

Okay, so all I saw in the movie was this guy, his wife and his son are running because a car is trying to run them over!. And then they actually do run them over and they die!. And the guy runs to them and starts caressing them and then a car of bad guys come and starts they start shooting!. Then he gets shot in the leg, and the gang of bad guys kick him and eventually hes left there and they spill gas all over the place and set it on fire!. But the guy manages to jump into the water!.
Then it cuts to a scene with John Travolta (i think, cuz i tried looking it up through john travolta's movies but couldnt find it!) and i remember he gave a pair of diamond earrings to a girl!.
There are other scenes too, but those are the main ones!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
