What's the name of this movie about a kid w/ a horse?!

I can't remember how it starts, but this kid's grandma dies then he has to sell his horse to pay for her funeral!. meanwhile his dad is away doing something(can't remember what)!. He then steals his horse back from the people he sold it to(really rich race horse people)!. He then goes cross country(why i can't remember) and is chased constantly by the people whose horse he stole!. He eventually meets up w/ his dad(who now has a boatload of money) and everything turns out okay!. and they all live happlily ever after!.
