The first one - "Dominion" - was made by writer/director Paul Schrader!. The studio did not like the arty approach he took; they wanted a more traditional horror movie!.
To get what they wanted, the studio brought in director Renny Harlin to make a different version of the film that was more commercial!. Schrader took his story to the press, which picked up on it, and the studio decided to give his movie a minimal theatrical release, followed by DVD!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
