Here is my answer:
SE7EN was a compelling film in many ways!. It was just birlliance to use the seven deadly sins as a concept first and foremost!. It was not only interesting but almost educational since probably many viewers had never even heard of the seven deadly sins!. It put that Christian theology on the map!. Cleary the writer was intelligent!.
I will just jump to the final before making other comments in that it was BEYOND incredible screenwriting to have the most naive character complete the last sin and actually close the "acts" as if it was a screenplay!.
In addition to this, it was a great choice of characters with the older black man giving it up to the fledgling white kid who has a thirst for the kill but know experience!. You not only get into the story line and get scared but have a true affection for all the characters!.
In some way you can relate to every single person im this film and the fact is that despite that it is a very horrific concept!.!.!.!.there is nobody to hate!. You feel sad for the people that are killed because one simply ate too much and another was dirty!.!.!.!.!.even the rich guy you can feel bad for because of a grieving wife!. You love Morgan because he is the daddy figure!. You love Gweneth because she is trying hard and vulnerable!. Your love Brad because he is a go getter whos is just a kid trying hard!. You even love Kevin Spacey because he is calm and intelligent!. Hell!.!.!.you even love the guy who delivered the box with the hed in it!.!.!.!.he simply was scared!.
The bottom line is this!.!.!.!.It was a BRILLIANT film that not only used a great concept!.!.!.but developed the characters well in such a way that in the end one might not even know whether they wanted the sins to be completed or the character involved to end it without the criminals desired result!. I can honestly ask where in any film has anyone simply wanted the final result to be what the psycho wanted!? I think in this film the director achieved a result that is simply impossible!. Some viewers were cheering for the villain while crying for the victim!. And in the end the fact is that nobody can really say who won!. everything!. the cast was perfect!.!.!.The plot was intense and set you up for suspense and shock and awe factor!. I especially loved the rain in the film, it added a silent character to the film!. I Like to observe all elements when I'm watching a movie, the characters, scenery, everything!. The rain was like the puzzle piece that helped make it more dramatic!. The cockiness of Brad Pitts Character which was so different from his partner gave you two perspectives in their professional fields and both in the same screen you know!. It was a really good movie, I enjoy every time I watch it and even though I've seen it many of times I still get that tingly feeling!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I thought it really made sense!. Not in the, "Oh, I get it" way but in the way that you almost sympathized with John Doe!. It was hard to feel bad about the people that died because of their sins, but on the other hand, they never had a chance to see the error of their ways (I would compare this to the way Jigsaw worked in the SAW movies but not sure those torture chambers would be any better than death)!. The excellent casting, especially for John Doe, also worked well!. Plus the big shock at the end, you could really feel Brad Pitt's pain!.!.!.excellent job by him!. with the people that were in the movie and the usual - the-bad-guy-always-loses hollywood dross that was about at that time, nobody expected it to end the way it did!. I mean, 'that's Gwyneth! they can't do that to her!' oh yes they can!.!.!.

I was about to say edward norton but wait he isn't in the film!. Its just a well acted I mean you have Brad Pitt, Kevin Spacey, and Morgran Freeman in the film well written movie!. With those 3 high profile actors its tuff to put out something that is terrible!. My favorite thing about it is the whats in the box senario at the end!. I'm sure people love it because its a who-done-it murder mystery with some meaning behind it!. Those always sell just look at all the CSI's!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Its just awesome, its so original, with the whole 7 sins thing!. And its all suspensful and then BAM gweneth paltrows head is in a box!. Just the way it is filmed like where you can barely see anything in the dark rooms, and then some dead guy is totally there!. I think the public has a general curiosity for carnal events and acts of violence!. It's story provided a touch of fantasy while remaining in the realm of "it could happen"

What I thjought was genious about the movie is that the city name is never mentionned in the film, implying that these crimes could be anywhere, like our own town!. The plot is simply divine!Www@Enter-QA@Com
