How do I copy my dvd's to my computer HDD?!

Question: How do I copy my dvd's to my computer HDD!?
I want to take my dvd's and put them on my hard drive, so when I travel it makes it all that much more efficient just to have them there on my laptop!.

I am using "Mac The Ripper" (It's a mac laptop), and I am about to go on a trip!. Two problems have arose

1) the movie is chopped up ( it looks like by chapters) how do I get it all back to one full segment - a whole movie again!?

2) how do I re-compress it so it doesn't take up so much room on my HDD!?

thank you for your help!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's FREE and you'll find answers there!.

From the sound of things, McRipper has encountered a security feature embedded in the movie DVD--which may explain the "choppy" result!. It'd be hard to pirate sell bootlegs of a movie that looks "choppy"!. also bear in mind: movie DVDs are segmented!. A common feature on ALL movie DVDs allows you to jump direct to a segment of that film!.
