Taken out of context, it rather loses any charisma it may have had when heard in the movie!.
It's a common term and does nothing for me!.
Now compare it to MY favorite movie quote!. This is not a famous quote but I love it since it sums up how I feel about children!. This quote means the same thing whether heard in the movie or not!.
And like it or not, relate to it or not, most people have a strong reaction to it:
"I should be sincerely sorry to see my neighbor's children eaten by wolves!."
The character (Clifton Webb in Laura) was explaining that due to Laura's influence he had become a better person!. Whereas before he didn't give two hoots about this or that, under her influence, he had actually gained a small degree of caring!.
