Answers:
It is just a slang word used to refer to a movie!. An action movie, etc!. Maybe the word came about because the first moving pictures were always flickering!. ha!Www@Enter-QA@Com

A long time ago, cameras and projectors were quite crude by todays standards, and movies seemed to "flicker" when being projected!. They actually are flickering (going on and off) 24-32 times a second!. Shorten flickering moving pictures, and you get!.!.!.flicks (aka flix)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

In the early days of movies, the films had a tendancy to flicker, owing to the lighting source (especially in cheap theaters), thus from "flicker', we get "flicks"Www@Enter-QA@Com

It just means movie!. Action flick, action movie!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think movies are called flicks because they used to flicker on the screens of the movie theatres!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
