How do you become a screenwriter for the movies?!
Question: How do you become a screenwriter for the movies!?
I thought about trying to become a screenwriter for movies!. Does anybody know how to break into that business!? also, what would I need to do - writing classes, build portfolio, etc!.!?

it's a little more difficult than just showing up!. if you don't know somebody that can promote if for you, you'll need an agent!. the agents are the people that make the calls and do all the footwork!. if you don't get paid, they don't get paid!.
movie houses get thousands of scripts a year!. so you'll need to have a great script and really know how to sell it if and when you get the opportunity to pitch it!.
and you don't necessarily need any writing classes if you already know how to format and write a script!. it would be good to have a variety of different scripts though!. just in case you get far enough in the process that they want to see more of your work!.!.!.and it helps to write and write, even if they aren't top notch stories!.

the movie to be made (universal, warner bros!., or columbia)
