This was a very popular movie in its day!. It was sort-of a autobiography of George Lucas and his coming-of-age and leaving his home town, Modesto CA in the California Central Valley!. A great performance by a then young Richard Dryfus!. Small introductory role for Harrison Ford and even a smaller role for unknown Susanne Summers!. The first big movie role for kid-actor (Opie) Ron Howard which lead to the Happy Days TV series (and then to Laverne and Shirley)!.
The outdoor scenes were filmed in Petaluma CA because Petaluma still looked like Modesto did in the early 1960s!. The references to names of High Schools and local places were accurate!. Though Wolfman Jack did not hang out in Modesto -- that was just a fantasy!. The cruise scene in Modesto continued into the mid 1980s before the city finally outlawed it!.

I think excellent movie if you remember the 60's and hot rods, cruising, and the days when things were much more wholesome!. Even the Fonz from happy days was in it!. See it!Www@Enter-QA@Com
