Answers:
Aragorn was left with a tough decision at the end of FOTR!. At the time, even though Frodo and Sam were heading toward danger, and had Gollum on their heels, they were safer than Merry and Pippin!. If Aragorn had followed Frodo, the other two hobbits would almost assuredly have died or at the very least been tortured severely!. Aragorn was trusting Frodo to fate and the strength of friendship!. He also ended up helping Frodo from a distance by drawing Sauron's attention away!.

As for the ring!. When you put the ring on it's kind of like entering another dimension!. The book calls it the realm of shadows or world of shadows!. It is dark and cold and very unpleasant!. It's not a place you would want to spend a lot of time in!. also, when you are there Sauron can sense your presence and even see what you are doing!. Using the ring is really a last resort!.

The ring effects you physically and psychologically!. As Frodo got closer to Mordor he felt the ring grow physically heavier and it also weighed heavier on his mind!. It continually tempted him to use it, gave him visions of power and wealth while at the same time tearing him down, telling him he wasn't good enough and would never make it to the end!. The fact that Frodo was able to keep going and withstand the power of the ring, where so many other noble and great people had already fallen to it, shows he was a true hero!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

1) Aragorn meant that the hobbits chose their fate themselves!. There is no clear explanation to that!.
2) The ring is evil!. It spoils the person who wears it!. Hobbits were somehow psychologically stronger than other races that's why they were entrusted with the ring, while the others were supposed only to protect them on the way to Orodruin!. Still, even with the hobbit's strong character the ring was a heavy burden for Frodo!. It was affecting his will, tried to seduce him to use the ring's powers and declare the new lord of the ring (that finally happened)!. And it was also a literal meaning of the ring getting heavier!. Tolkien wrote about it!. It was like Frodo wore a ton of metal on his neck, although it was only his personal sensation!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

because aragorn knew that he couldn't help frodo and sam on their journey anymore- that it was all up to them!. They had to fight off the Uruki too, otherwise they could have caught up with Frodo and Sam!.

The longer someone wears the ring the more they become affected by sauron's power!. The more they hold it the more they become obsessed with it's power!. and he didnt mean that literally- the ring was becoming heavy mentally- and draining frodo the further he went on his journey and the closer he came to mt doom!. Aragorn knew that the others (including himself) would be too tempted to try to take the ring!. Plus, the Uruks took Merry and Pippin and they couldn't let them just die while they had a chance to save them!.

It probably doesn't literally become heavier, but the pull he feels from Sauron becomes stronger!. It becomes harder to resist!.
The Ring has a mind and soul of it's own, and it's evil!. It wants to go back to Sauron, it's creator!. It's pretty much trying to convince whoever has it to return it to it's rightful ownder!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

aragorn and the others had to continue fighting the uruk-hai!.
frodo feels different with the ring on!. it has an addicting affect!. he means its getting heavier because he wants to wear it more and more because he feels invincible!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

no not literally mentally it is geting haeavy as in responsibilty!. and frodo disapperead withe witch and wizard Www@Enter-QA@Com

aragorn means that frodo and sam can no longer be helped, its all up to them now!.!.!.

A mortal wearing the Ring was made effectively invisible except to those able to perceive the non-physical world, with only a thin, shaky shadow discernible in the brightest sunlight!. Whether immortals would be made invisible by it is unknown!. The only direct example given is Tom Bombadil, who was anomalous in other ways!. The Ring would also extend a mortal possessor's life indefinitely!. Gandalf explains that it does not "grant new life", but that the possessor merely "continues" until life becomes unbearably wearisome!. Like the Nine Rings, the One Ring also has the effect of physically corrupting mortals who wore it for extended periods of time, eventually transforming them into wraiths!. Hobbits prove to be somewhat resistant to this process, as proved by Gollum!.

It might have also given its wielder the ability to read minds, as Galadriel suggested to Frodo when he asked if he could learn to communicate telepathically as she did!. On at least one occasion, the Ring sharpened its wearer's hearing at the expense of his visual acuity, and it may at that time have granted understanding of unknown languages!.

it might mean literally "heavier" or he just knows that hes going to have to face whatever it is soon!. or like the saying "the tension was so thick you can cut it with a knife!."

i'm sorry i'm bad at explaining things!.
hope that helps!.!.!.
