Question: What Possible Motivation, Besides Greed, Could Cause Warner Brothers to Move Harry Potter's Release to 2009!?
Warner Bros!. gave Harry the school year off, announcing last week it was bumping the sixth movie in the series from fall to next summer-
"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," which Warner Bros!. on Thursday moved from its Nov!. 21 release date to July 17, 2009!.
The Film was on schedule in its production!.
The Seventh and last book will be divided into TWO Films!.

I'm not gonna win any fans with this answer, but here goes!.
1) Money!. WB feels it will get bigger/longer run by opening next year
during the summer!. Kids will be out of school & will be able to go
see the movie more often (if they choose) because they will have
every weekday open to go see it!.
2) I believe they were kinda scared to compete with the new "Twilight"
movie!. HP has been out for many years -- all the books are finished!.
This is the 1st Twilight movie opening & it would have killed some
of the HP money when it would have opened a few weeks later!.
I'm ALWAYS going to be a bigger HP fan over Twilight and it just SUCKS that they moved to next July!. I was already looking forward to the movie after seeing the trailer -- and now all I have to look forward to is waiting!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

The REAL reason it got pushed back is that the Writers Strike slowed production on a number of big films!. Therefore, other than "Terminator: Salvation," Warner Bros!. had no potential blockbusters to release next summer!. They moved "Harry Potter" to July so that they could have at least two "big" movies to release during the lucrative summer season!.
It's frustrating for fans, but look on the bright side!.!.!.the span between "Half-Blood Prince" and "Deathly Hallows" will be that much shorter!
