"does this animated star wars ruin the star wars legacy!?"

No it doesn't!. It adds to the story!. Very little is actually known about the Clone Wars !.!.!. no, the movies just barely scratch the surface of them!. The Clone Wars basically begin at the end of ep II and for the most part end at the beginning of ep III!. Most of what we know of the Clone Wars has been told in books and comics!. There was also a animated micro-series on the Cartoon Network in 2003 & 2004 that gave us more info about them!. Before I go any farther I have to say that the new movie and TV series are NOT just a remake of the micro-series like many have tried to say on this forum!. The movie and series are set in between ep 21 & ep 25 of the micro-series!. There is about half a year to one year of time in that period so there's lots of room for more stories!. I did notice a couple of things that might cause a few problems in the time line of the saga but they are minor in many ways and can be figured out if you try hard enough!.

"do you think George Lucas has lost touch with his fans and what they want in a movie!?"

I really wish it was possible for me to show you just how much that statement ticks me off!. The MAIN reason Lucas started making the movie and the series was for the fans !.!.!. I guess I should say for the "real fans" of his great saga!. We wanted to know about the Clone Wars so Lucas is now giving us what we wanted!. How that says to you or anyone else that Lucas has lost touch with his fans boggles the mind!.

There is one thing you have to keep in mind if you go to see this movie!. This movie was never really supposed to be made !.!.!. as Tye says, while Lucas was watching some of the completed episodes of the TV series on a big screen he thought that making a movie to kick off the series so he did!. I have heard people say that the movie lacked much of a story line !.!.!. well considering the fact that the time period covered by the movie is only 3 or 4 days you can should be able to see why it doesn't have the same kind of full story line that the movies seemed to have!. This movie is the "pilot" for the new series and in that respect it kicks a@@!.

In the end you are entitled to your opinion just as much as I'm entitled to mine but !.!.!. an opinion without much fact to back it up is worse than having no opinion at all!.

May The Force Be With You !.!.!.

To "soulgangster":

This statement "I don't think he cares about fans, as much as making as much money as possible" is so untrue that it boggles the mind!. As I said above, the MAIN reason Lucas is doing this movie and series is for the fans !.!.!. the real fans of the saga anyway!. Yeah, animation is a little "cheaper" to make than a live action movie but many of the stunts done in the animated movie and series would be too expensive and more importantly, too dangerous to use "live" people!. As I said above, you are entitled to your opinion just as I am mine but giving your opinion without any thing to back it up pretty much makes your opinion null and void !.!.!. to me anyways!.

I believe the motivation behind the animated series "Clone Wars" is to try to acquaint a much younger generation with the Star Wars saga!. As they grow older, they will most likely become fans of the Star Wars trilogies as well!. Note that the original Star Wars, episode IV: "A New Hope", was released over 30 years ago in 1977!.

I sincerely doubt that there will be an addition to the saga, such as a Star Wars VII, since the esteemed filmmaker completed his story line with the release of Star Wars: Episode III - "Revenge of the Sith" in 2005!.

Star Wars is not only entertaining, but more importantly it is the message that matters!. The familiar thematic conflicts of "Good vs!. Evil", "Man vs!. Machine", and "Government vs!. Individual Rights" are timeless!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

No, this movie does not ruin the legacy of Star Wars!. It adds to it!. The Star Wars universe, which consists of more than just the movies, begs for more stories to be told!. The Clone Wars has always been a mystery since Obi-wan talked about it with Luke in the first movie in 1977, and now Lucas is filling in that gap for us!. He hasn't lost touch with his fans!. He is giving them exactly what they want!. We asked for more info on the Clone Wars, and now we're getting it!.

soulgangster - It's very frustrating reading comments from uninformed people!. Why is it that people think that Lucas made this movie because it was cheap!? It makes no sense!. He's made Billions with the other 6 movies, video games, books, toys, and pretty much anything else you can think of!. He has never had a problem in the past spending millions on movies!. Why start now!? The real reason this movie is animated has nothing to do with saving money!. At Star Wars Celebration III, in 2003 in Indianapolis, he told the world that he was planning on making 2 television series, 1 animated and 1 live action!. The animated series is first and starts in the fall on Cartoon Network!. This movie came about when he was viewing some of the first episodes on a large screen!. It looked so good that he decided to introduce it with a movie!. That's why its animated!. The live action show is his next project!. If I'm not mistaken, they are trying to get it cast now!.

I hope this answers your question!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

This new movie doesn't necessarily ruin the legacy!.!.!.but it did not have to be made!. Animation allows visuals that would be too expensive to be filmed to be created otherwise!. I think that making a movie cheaply was Lucas' goal!. I don't think he cares about fans, as much as making as much money as possible!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
