Quirky flicks!.

Thanks in advance!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Haven't seen Pineapple Express but I am interested in it mainly cause i need to check out every stoner flick that comes out!. Although I felt Superbad was completely awful!. Standards in comedy are definitely going down!.

A Scanner Darkly is an amazing movie based off of the Phillip K!. Dick novel!. It concerns a group of drug addicts and their relationship with the police state in a futuristic, dystopian society!. Robert Downey Jr!. is awesome and very funny in this movie!.

If you liked Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Where the Buffalo Roam is a movie about Hunter S!. Thompson the author of Fear and Loathing!. It's based off of semi-autobiographical events in Dr!. Thompson's life and partly based on another one of his books, Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail in '72!. Bill Murray plays HST and is hysterical!.

The Kentucky Fried Movie blew my mind!. It's John Landis' first movie and it's essentially in the form of sketch comedy!. John Landis directed Animal House and Airplane as well as others!.

If you liked Pulp Fiction, I would recommend another Quentin Tarrentino flick Jackie Brown!. It's my personal favorite of his movies and it's hella funky!. It also stars some really good actors: Pam Grier, Robert De Niro, Samuel L!. Jackson, Chris Tucker, Bridget Fonda, Michael Keaton, and many others!.

A Clockwork Orange is an amazing experience!. It's directed by the always brilliant Stanley Kubrick (check out his whole catalog) and based on the Anthony Burgess novel!. It concerns a 15 year-old boy named Alex who is in a gang in London and it's about his journeys through the system!.

The Limey is a really good underworld, crime flick!. Terrence Stamp plays an englishman who goes to L!.A!. to find the person who killed his daughter and take revenge!. also stars Luis Guzman and Peter Fonda!.

The Holy Mountain is pretty amazing!. It's kinda hard to get in to though!. The first 30 minutes contain no dialogue and are jam-packed with religious imagery, but once it picks up it's hysterical!. It's mainly about a guy who looks a lot like Jesus stumbling around and trying to figure out what he's supposed to do!. Eventually he finds a group of people led by The Alchemist and they venture forth to "the holy mountain" in search of immortality!. It was written and directed by Alejandro Jodorowsky who is a bit of a cult favorite and it was completely financed by John Lennon and Yoko Ono!. Absolutely ridiculous quotes from the trailer: "Nothing in your education or your experience can have prepared you for this film!.!.!. The Holy Mountain is a film entirely outside the tradition of motion picture art!. It is outside the tradition of modern theatre!. The Holy Mountain is a film outside the tradition of criticism and review!."

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels plays out a lot like a Tarrentino film but has a lot of great British humor in it!. It's directed by Guy Ritchie (who also directed Snatch) and I believe it's his first film!. Jason Statham and a bunch of other relatively famous British actors star in it!. Some people will tell you Snatch is better while failing to cite a reason, and although it is a really good film, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is much better!.

Anything by Wes Anderson!. My personal favorite is the Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, but all of his movies are really great!. His first film Bottle Rocket is spectacular as well!. After that I would have to recommend Rushmore, then the Royal Tenenbaums, and then his most recent film the Darjeeling Limited (it was really good, but hasn't had time to grow on me yet)!. All of his movies are spectacular and very poignant though!. They also generally cast a lot of the same people (the Wilson brothers, Bill Murray, Anjelica Huston, Jasom Schwartzman, etc!.)

and!.!.!.

Wristcutters: A Love Story!. It's an independent film based off of a short story called "Kneller's Happy Campers"!. Essentially, it's about all of these people who commit suicide and end up in this type of purgatory/hell!. They all admit that they would commit suicide again, however they are scared of where they might end up!. One of the characters is a Russian singer/songwriter based on the frontman for Gogol Bordello and the actor does an amazing job!. This film also stars the amazing musician Tom Waits!. Eventually, the main character (not the Russian) finds out his girlfriend committed suicide as well, and he sets off across this place to find her!. It sounds like a sappy sort of love story but it is amazingly funny and ingeniously done!. The cinematography is absolutely breathtaking too!.

Hope this was helpful!.

Edit: The Usual Suspects is probably my favorite crime thriller of all time!. It has a lot of the twists and turns of a Tarrentino-esque movie but it is amazingly put together and it tells a story that is truly too good to be true!. It has a great cast (a lot of funny sort of smartasses like Stephen Baldwin, Benicio Del Toro, and Kevin Pollak as well as straightmen like Chazz Palminteri and Gabriel Byrne) but Kevin Spacey is utterly gripping in this film!. I think it might be Kevin Spacey's best role and he consistently brings the pain!.

Speaking of Kevin Spacey, American Beauty is a really hilarious film!. Very surreal and disturbing but filled with so much absurdist comedy!. I admit when I saw the trailers when it first came out I had no intention of seeing the movie but I eventually checked it out and it is easily one of my favorite movies of the past 10 years!.

Thanks person below me: Death to Smoochy, Office Space, Ghostworld, The Birdcage, Natural Born Killers, and American Psycho were all top-notch too!. Especially American Psycho!. Great period piece, great dark humour, and overall an absolutely amazing film!.
