I kind of liked the first hostel!.But, Hostel2 lacked any thought whatsoever, it was laughably bad!. I think that most actual Horror fans[myself included] hate these movies because their devoid of any actual scares!. They replace all suspense and actual scares with cgi gore effects,every single gore hound dispises cgi gore also!. Most classics in gore flicks such as "Cannibal Holocaust" are remembered for both their gore,and using their storyline and character devoloement to make things a little more horrific!. Hostel one did a pretty fair job at mixing them together,Horny Americans go out of the states and get murdered!.
Hostel 2 doesn't really have any reason's behind why the victims are there in the first place, most of them meet on a train for *beep* sake!. But the biggest problem is [drumroll] the kills are more gory then horrifying!. Honestly i didnt find one kill in the entire movie memebral, it just seemed to be there for no exact reason,my guess is that they couldnt come up with entertaining scenes so they just rented a bunch of seventie's exploitation movies and redid them, poorly!. Everything about this screams mindless rip-off!. The saw series is successful because THEY ACTUALLY HAVE A STORY TO STAGE THE MURDERS, that makes them horrifing and entertaining knowing about the victims and what not!. If hostel 2 was intended to be a action movie, its decent, but its not scary at all!.
