Question: What is the point of the picture in "The Family Stone"
I think I may have missed an important part, because I did not understand the picture that SJP's character gives to the family, or why Rachel McAdam's character was crying!. I'm so confused!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Ok this picture was important because the mom is dying of breast cancer and she was pregnant with Rachel's character in the picture!. It was a wonderful gift because all of them were loosing their mom and it was a great picture of her being a mom!!! Wonderful movie, I cry everytime I see it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
are you kidding me!? thats like the pinnacle, changing point of the story! the whole point is that they think shes so terrible, yet she wants so badly to show them how much she cares for their son and their family!. so she gives them all a black and white picture of what she thinks is the son shes dating, but its actually the other one she thought she slept with!. but the whole thing is that hes not alone in the picture, SHE (diane keaton) is holding him!. shes all young and looking so loving!. and its like the matriarch of this entire family realizes whats really important and so does racheal mcadams when she sees the beauty of her mother when she was so young and sweet and not yet embittered!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.i dunno!. if you didnt get it, you didnt get!.!. well its a picture of the mom pregnant with rachel mcadam's character and the mom had cancer (or some sickness, i don't remember, but im pretty sure cancer) so it was a meaningful memory of her for the whole family!. that's why she is gone at the end- she passed away!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
