Been trying to think of this movies name for ages – I remember it been on TV and rented the VHS when i was a kid!. Can’t remember who was in it but the plot was something on the lines of
Set on an alien plant without water set in the distant future
It’s about a group of teenagers who play for a team (some sort of roller blade ice hockey team) the youngest member is deaf and he comes across a glowing Sphere that tells him to run away and the rest of the team come with him – there are chased by the police and another team for the Sphere
Anyone remember anything like that

Somathas was almost right but it was Solar Babies!. Roller Babies was an entirely different kind of movie!.
Solarbabies (1986)
In a future in which most water has disappeared from the Earth, we find a group of children, mostly teenagers, who are living at an orphanage, run by the despotic rulers of the new Earth!. The group in question plays a hockey based game on roller skates and is quite good!. It has given them a unity that transcends the attempts to bring them to heel by the government!. Finding an orb of special power, they find it has unusual effects on them!. They escape from the orphanage (on skates) and try to cross the wasteland looking for a place they can live free as the stormtroopers search for them and the orb!. Most of the water supplies are controlled by the elite corporation E-Protecorate, where the E-Protectcorate takes children away from their families and are forced to live in a orphanage, where they are to be trained as E-Police, the E-Protectcorate's security army led by the cruel commanding officer Grock!. After playing a game of Skateball (Hockey on Rollerskates) against their rival team 'The Scorpions'!. Daniel, the youngest member of the Solarbabies discovers a glowing orb from another galaxy called Bodahi in a mineshaft and Bodahi heals Daniel's deafness!. The Solarbabies learn Bodahi has amazing powers!. And the discovery of Bodahi convinces the Solarbabies to escape from the Orphange and fight back against the E-Protectcorate!. Pursued by Grock, who is after Bodahi, The Solarbabies travel across the desert wasteland, where Bodhai is the key in their quest to defeat the E-Protectcorate and liberate the world from it's controlWww@Enter-QA@Com

I have racked my brain trying to remember the name of this movie and could not -for the life of me- come up with the answer!. You could go to any movie site and check out what they have to say about the plot!. It really would help if you knew one person who was in it but as you don't, I cannot be of any assistance!.
