Maxwell Anderson's,"The Bad Seed" was a smash hit on Broadway and very possibly the first characterization of a child sociopath!. The entire cast,including Patty McCormick as Rhoda and Nancy Kelly as the mother was the original stage cast(although no amount of makeup and lighting can hide the fact that Nancy Kelly is waaay too old to be that stupid about her own daughter)!. The film version however, is kinda stagy in many spots,but Eileen Heckart(Tony winner for the role)was heartbreaking as the desolate mother of the child Rhoda kills!. And the ending was changed for the film version as well because in the 50's,even a little girl couldn't get away with murderWww@Enter-QA@Com
Yes!.!.!.it was a very good movie!. Patty McCormick was very good at that role!. I believe it was made back in the 50's sometime!.
I love old movies!. Did you ever see ALL MINE TO GIVE!? If you do prepare to cry! It is very very very good! It is about an Irish family that comes over to the US during the Potato Famine!. They are doing ok!.!.!.when the father dies and then the mother dies!. The children are all left alone and the oldest has to find homes for his siblings on Christmas Eve!. He puts them in a sled and walks for miles to find them good homes!.!.!.then he goes to work at Lumber Mill!.
