Answers:
Basically, they ended up letting him go by himself because the ring was and would've been too tempting to all of the others; even Sam started to be somewhat tempted by it, but as Galadrial said, Frodo was a ringbearer, and "!.!.!.to be a ring bearer is to be alone"; Frodo needed to go alone in order to ensure the highest possible chance of success!.

A few reasons:
1- They didn't "let" him go alone, they were split up after the orcs attacked them and Boromir tried to take the ring!.
2-They others still played a huge part in the story, if you take any member out of the story, the mission to destroy the ring would have failed, for example, Pippen helps Aowyn slay the Nazgul!.
3-The story would have been very boring if there was no challenge!. The point of the story is sometimes the smallest of us are the bravest!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Frodo left on his own and they didn't know where he was going!.
Gandalf's giant eagles can't get past thousands of orcs armed with bows and arrows unless Sauron is dead and his minions subsequently destroyed!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
