its the american film title the american film titles are different
like in the uk it was harry potter and the philosiphers stone

There was an article about this in the (London) Sunday Times last week, including an interview with the author (of the book)!. She hated the title change but had already sold the rights!. The producers didn't think they could sell 'full frontal' to their target audience of pre-teen girls, or rather to the parents of pre-teen girls who would be paying for the tickets!.
