I would say going by the title of your movie, i would make it about these kids who are very popular that decide to make a bet with their high school that they could stay in the town's abandoned house to raise money for a summer trip!. They think it's gonna be an easy task since everyone is truly horrified by the stories that came from the house!. But as the night goes on things start to happen and all their fears come true!.
You can have each character have some kind of haunted past or fear that comes to reality when they go in the house!.

you could set someone on fire !.
you could work flashbacks starting with a guy making a story based on his life but then tries to make it interesting by writing some plots of horrific proportions of murder, ghost , devils and demons and then things happening to reality!. he sees people differently like heads decapitated before his eyes, eyes blood shot, sort of hallucinating you could fill in some of your ideas !.
Then at the end the one on the fire roasting was no other than your main character!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Absolutely anything that you find disturbing, terrifying, or just plain horrible, and feeling that there is absolutely NOTHING you can do about it, no matter how hard you try!.
For example: Fighting against the government (they are killing a whole heap of people you love) or a person who tortures babies and puppies!.
