Question: Why was Rachel Dawes not played by Katie Holmes in The Dark Knight!?
The fact that she did not play the role again really upset me!. She was excellent in Batman Begins in what I thought was a pretty challenging role!. Maggie Gyllenhaal was godawful and ugly to boot!.

OK I will give you that Maggie whats her face is UGLY!! and yes she did suck but Rachel Dawes isn't a main character!! If I remember correctly Katie Holmes SUCKED at it too so whats the point!?!?!? The reason she wasn't in it is because Tom Cruise and the rest of those Scientology nuts made her drop the roles and blamed it on her having a baby!.

its because tom cruise is super possessive of her and doesnt like to be married to a leading lady!. he likes to make all the money for them!. thats why him and nicole kidman didnt work out, because her career was starting to outshine his so he didnt want to be with her anymore!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I read in a magazine that Maggie Gyllenhaal got asked first!. But Maggie asked for Kate's blessing and Kate was totally cool and happy with the idea! Maggie played a really good part too!
