Answers:
The reason I've seen it multiple times is 1) the pure hilarity of Tim Curry as a transvestite and 2) Meatloaf making his, albeit brief, appearance!. And, of course, for Time Warp!.

My younger brother has actually been to one of the annual showings at the Kentucky Theater in downtown Lexington and said that it is a pure sight, everyone dressed up and getting to throw rice and what not!.

Yes, it's campy and cheesy!. But, many movies of the Camp and Cheese genre have very loyal followings!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

You had to be there at the time, to watch it at a cinema or live!. The actual film is crap it is he audience participation that made it a huge sucess, thirty years on times have changed!. It wasnt overated in its day alas it hasnt stood the test of time and now we live in a much more liberal world!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

During the mid to late 70's lots of people were into wanton sex, drugs and drinking!. I think Richard O'Brien just glamorized this and made Rocky Horror to try and poke fun at that lifestyle!.

In the process the movie just snowballed into the cult classic it is today!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's camp--over the top, that was the fun of it!Www@Enter-QA@Com
