Question: Do you think this would be a good movie plot!?
So last night i had this dream that I think would actually be a really good movie!. I dreamed a city had been flooded due to widespread tornados and hurricanes and it was the end of the world!. And as the water was flowing form the ocean flooding the city, the water was full of sharks who were eating people left right and centre!. A band of survivors kept trying to get to higher and higher ground to escape the flood!. They went into a building thinking they would besafe, but the water and sharks kept flowing to higher and higher levels meaning they had to keep going up a floor and up and up and the water and sharks kept coming!. I wonder if a movie could be made of this premise!? do you think so!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

I can't place it, but I feel like that has been done before somewhere else, the day after tomorrow comes to mind when you say widespread flooding and tornadoes, and the going to the top of a tall building seems derivative as well!. i really don't think that is a great idea, to be perfectly honest!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

No, I don't think it would make for a good movie!. Aside from the fact that it would be a rather derivative movie (we've seen flooded cities, and we've seen sharks) there's very little tension: if people are in the building, and the water level keeps rising, why doesn't everyone just go to the roof right away!? Why would they only go up a floor at a time, until the sharks come up to that level too!? also, if you did engineer some way to keep putting them in danger, every scene would essentially be the same as the previous ones!. How would you change things up!? The final reason, is that it just sounds too gimickey: it's the end of the world, ocean levels are rising at ten feet a minute (one floor per minute -- perfect for a 90 minute movie, assuming they're in a very tall building) and also!.!.!. a giant heard of sharks just happens to get washed into the city!. it feels like one kind of cliche plot wasn't enough, so you jammed another one on top of it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
