Papillon - great book but what went wrong with the film?!

Question: Papillon - great book but what went wrong with the film!?
should it be remade properly!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
No!. Most good books don't translate into good films!. Part of the joy of reading a book is the ability of the mind to create the scene for itself!. A movie is the scene that someone else's mind created!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

He's right!. Seldom are films actually the way the author wrote it!. Louis L'Amour's example of The Daybreakers & The Sacketts was put into only 1 movie & it left some of the important details out!. It was filmed in the state God made though & he introduces it as "God couldn't be everywhere, That's why He made *********!." (state)Because of the beauty of the state & the mountains!.

Example of films true to books that I know of is : Bonanza & True Grit!. That's the only 2 I know of & the lady my daughter buys books from - who is a bookaholic-says too!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
