Question: Ne recommendations on a good Korean movie!?
I recently watched Peppermint Candy which I thought was good and Jail Breakers but they were just showing for a limited time on my cable company's on demand channel so i really have limited resources!. ne one heard of these titles or can recommend me a good watch!? Peppermint Candy got some recognition in some film festivals!.!.!.They were both in Korean with Eng!. subtitles!. ThxWww@Enter-QA@Com

I don't know how familiar you are with Korean cinema, but probably the most celebrated contemporary director is Chan-wook Park, best known for his 2003 film "Old Boy," which is part of his vengeance trilogy that includes "Sympathy for Mr!. Vengeance" (2002) and "Lady Vengeance" (2005)!. Another one I like by Park is Joint Security Area, which is set on the North Korea-South Korea border!. His most recent is "I'm a Cyborg, but that's OK," which should be well-worth watching!.
Another highly important contemporary S!. Korean film is "The Host," from 2006!. It was a blockbuster film that used the same special effects team that has worked on a number of Spielberg films!. "The Host" had one of the highest grossing box office sales in South Korean history!.
I'll also recommend the following (all of which come from recommendations I've gathered from friends):
Chilsu and Mansu (1988)
A Petal (1996) - This film addresses the effects of a brutal military crackdown against government protesters in the 1980s!.
Sopyonje (1993) - Deals with a traditional musical form, p'ansori!.
The Day a Pig Fell Into the Well (1996)
Secret Sunshine (2007) - The actress in this won best actress award at Cannes in 2007!.

Well, personally, I don't know any Korean movies but if you go to www!.watch-movies!.net , go to the genres list and it should say "Korean" in there somewhere, click on it, and view the list of videos!. www!.watch-movies!.net is an AWESOME site that you can watch movies for free on!. I don't think you even need to sign up for it!. I just signed up so that I could add movies to my playlist!. But, they have awesome new movies like "Mama Mia", "Hancock", "WALL-E", and "Wanted" on there!. This is definetly a site to go to watch movies that are in theaters right now without paying a cent! "Il Mare" is good and so is "Ditto!." I found those at Blockbuster!. They said "Ditto" was the first modern Korean movie that depicted people as they really are and as they really talk in real life, not just presenting the best look to the world!. I thought it was pretty good!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
