Why is Star Wars episode 3 called Revenge of the Sith?!

Question: Why is Star Wars episode 3 called Revenge of the Sith!?
It seems to me that the Sith was never really in need of revenge in the first place!. If so, what for!? Would it be better to call it Attack of the Sith!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Because up to Episode III the sith are all but extinct!. By the end of episode III They control the galaxy and take revenge upon the jedi!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

actually they were finally defeated as a threat 800 years before Ep 1 (possible a movie to come some day)

but they didnt resurface in form untill recently, and one of their biggest just happens to be Palpetine!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's revenge because the Sith were soundly defeated by the Jedi thousands of years before, thus the reason why there are only two Sith at one time (they are hiding)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

because the jedi's were close to taking over the senate, thats my guess!. someone probably knows for sureWww@Enter-QA@Com
