How early do you arrive at the theater for good seats?!
Question: How early do you arrive at the theater for good seats!?
Out of curiosity, I'm wondering how early one should go to a theater to get good seats opening night of a big movie (i!.e!. LOTR, Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc!.!? In this scenerio you would already have your tickets purchased (and the movie is sold out), but you want to get there early enough to ensure good seats as well!. Thanks!Www@Enter-QA@Com

If it is a huge movie, I usually get there 30 minutes to an hour beforehand so I can be the first in line!. We usually go anywhere from 8-12 people deep, if it's a big movie!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I get there at least 1/2 an hour BEFORE the trailers even start!. I prefer movie theaters with stadium seating, because there's more clearance between your line of sight and the head of the person in front of you!. I like to sit about 2/3 of the way back, center of the row, so I can take in the entire screen and what's on it, without feeling like I'm watching a tennis match!.
Sometimes, I'll buy my tickets in advance if the theater has a self-service kiosk out front -- or I'll buy a ticket for a later show at the box office!.
I also prefer to go to matinees -- the price is better, the people aren't half-potted from drinking all day, and it's still daylight when you leave the theater!.
One more thing: I would NEVER camp out to be the first to see a movie on its first day of release (like idiots who did for Star Wars or LOTRs)!. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of in my life!. The movie will be showing for WEEKS and it's the SAME movie that plays from day one!. I avoid big opening weekends as much as possible, but since that's the scenario - at least 30 minutes before show time!. Sometimes about 45 if I'm not feeling lucky!. And so I have time to wait 20 minutes in the damn concessions line!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
