"The Changeling" is one of the best ghost stories ever filmed and definitely is an outstanding entry in the supernatural genre!. I haven't seen it for more than 20 years, and I vividly recall many of the scenes in it!. One that certainly stands out is the scene in which the chain and medallion pull themselves out of the earth! Who would have thought that a wheelchair and a bouncing ball could be so eerie!?! I've seen so many uses of those two images in many horror films, whether the average viewer recognizes them or not!. Sadly, "The Changeling isn't shown very often!.
I don't know of a film titled "The Visitor" released in 1977, but I remember a truly awful occultish film from 1979 that could the one you're referring to!. If not, I apologize for this error!. Is this the one!?

Wealthy Atlanta basketball team owner Raymond Armstead (Lance Henrikson) is dating widow Barbara Collins (Joanne Nail) and seemingly in love with her, but he is really on assignment for a mysterious syndicate of rich men trying to gain power through the evil manipulation of a genetic alien force that is carried in Barbara's womb!. Both Raymond and the smart-mouthed and uncannily talented pre-teen daughter of Collins, Katie (Paige Conner), want marriage and a new baby to be born, with this baby carrying forth the power that Katie is starting to show!. An older man appears from another world (John Huston) and intervenes as the force of good that this power potentially has, trying to stop Katie from using her powers for evil and to take her back to a place where the goodness of children can thrive!.
I vaguely remember this film, enough to understand why it doesn't get shown much!. The cast is amazing! Besides Huston, it also features Mel Ferrer, Glenn Ford, Shelley Winters, Sam Peckinpah, and Franco Nero as~~tadaaaa~~Jesus!
I shall say this: I'd like to see it again, just to see if it's as awful as I remember!. Generally, movies this bad develop a cult following, but I've never heard anyone even ask about at Y!A or list it!.

the changeling was a great film about a man who murders his crippled son and replaces him with an orphan!. The murdered boys spirit haunts the house looking for the one who took his place who is now an old man!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
