It's hard say!.Most of the best sad movies take you up and down,by mixing humor and 'lessons' of finding the good out of the tragedy,or lessons of the strength of the human spirit,etc!. Steel Magnolias!.!.!.!.Beaches!.!.!.!.My Girl!.!.!.!.Awakenings!.!.!.A River Runs Through It!. The more deeply intense ones such as!.!.!.Lorenzo's Oil!.!.!.!.The Color Purple!.!.!.Lady Sings The Blues!.!.!.!.and Of Mice And Men!. I feel weird saying this but the only two out of all these tear-jerkers I actually cried watching was!.!.!.The Color Purple!.!.!.and Beaches!.!.!.I cried at the 1st one out of happiness for 'Celie' at the end of the movie,and I guess for the 2nd because of Bette Midler's singing! Darn her!

Life as a House, if you have not seen it!. I highly recommend!. Kevin Kline at his best!.

Here are my top three favourites from over the years:
1) Brief Encounter (Lean, 1945)!. Don't be put off by the fact that it's an "old movie" - this is often considered one of the saddest and best romantic films of all time!. Housewife Laura meets Dr Alec Harvey for the first time at a train station after her weekly shop, and the chance meeting leads them down a path of forbidden love and inevitable tragedy!. It's so sad and makes my mum cry every time!. I analyzed this film for my coursework and throughly enjoyed every minute!
2) Titanic (Cameron, 1997)!. A modern classic and known for being a bit cheesy, it again shows another story of forbidden love (this time between two social classes)!. It is one of the most famous love films of all time (one most mentioned anyway!)!. It will make you weep lots! It won 4 Golden Globes and ties with All About Eve for having the highest Oscar nominations of all time - 14!. It still tops the worldwide box-office of all time, making $1,835,300,000!. 3) What Dreams May Come (Ward, 1998)!. After the death of her husband and children, a young woman commits suicide and is sent to hell!. Upon learning this, her husband Chris devotes his eternity into rescuing her!. It will make you cry A LOT!. I certainly did!.
