How does new Star Trek movie fit in with canon?!

Question: How does new Star Trek movie fit in with canon!?
I was just wondering how the new Star Trek movie fits in with canon of Star Trek!. I just saw some pics of the Enterprise and while it resembles other Star Ships they obviously updated it!. However in other Star Trek series DS9, Enterprise, TNG they seemed to adhere to the classic set designs and models when showing The Original Series Era!. I never had trouble with the dated look!. Is the new movie a reboot rather than a prequel!? If so how are die hard trekkies or trekkers taking it!. I admit I don't stay on top of things with Star Trek, but I am a fan and would hate to see them ruin a good thing!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I believe it is supposed to be a reboot!. Kinda like Batman Begins!. Leonard Nimoy will be in it but only a cameo!. I don't think it is going to connect to the already existing Star Trek Universe!. Hope this helps!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The new Star Trek movie is about the first time Kirk, Spock, McCoy, and the rest of the crew meet each other!. They will be younger than the original TV series!. On the reboot vs prequel, it will be a prequel!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

My understanding is it's based on the early years of Captain Kirk!. With Captain Christopher Pike in command of the NCC-1701 U!.S!.S!. Enterprise!. But, with all new cast in the old roles!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

What new Star Trek movie!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

This movie has its stupid points!. It's a prequil as other people have already mentiond!. In the trailer the Enterprise does look like the refitted one from the Motion Picture movie!. I think that it will be of the orginal design but, the visual effects of the ship would be upgraded!. How could they have the refitted Enterprise before the orginal design when the movie is based on before the original series!? Hasen't anyone noticed that in the trailer the people working on the Enterprise doesn't it look like they work in a factory rather then builiding a Starship!? Not too mention that the Enterprise was usually built in orbit since how can they build something that big on a planet!? I dunno how it's fitting in with being "cannon" I think there going to screw it up!. They already have Kirk and Pike in command of the Enterprise within the same movie so, either Spocks in 2 different time peroids or theres a really good explanation for it!. I really think they were dumb to have another orginal series movie but, without the orginal cast besides Spock!. It's not going to be that good!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
