Anyone remember a movie about a boy lost in the woods?!

I remember scenes from a movie from when I was a kid!. In the beginning of the movie a son and his two parents are in a RV in the woods!. For some reason he gets out and the parents are turning around on this old logging road!. The Dad backs up too much and the RV falls off the cliff and the parents die!. I remember he walks around lost but meets an old loner in the woods who I think has to take medication but refuses to!. What movie was this!? That's really all I can remember!.
