Im a music major/philosophy but im thinking about getting a job in the film industry!. Anything really, I just love movies and I want to be involved in making them!. Do I have to be a film major!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

You don't even have to be a high school graduate to get a job in the film industry!. You just need to know someone!. As a college graduate in film, you will have a larger network of people that can help you get a job!. English is also a great major that can help you get into film You could probably intern for a music supervisor (and not really ever get to go to set) with your major easily too!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I don't know what the mainstream industry requires!. The requirements may be job specific, so I imagine there's probably at least something that doesn't require a film major!. You may want to also look into the indy film aspect!. I've been doing some work with indie films writing musical scores, and I find it quite enjoyable!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Not at all!. One of the things that cheaper technology has given to the filmmaker is the ability to get out there and make your own film!. The money you save in not taking a film major you can put into your first film (usually a short to act as a calling card)!.

no you dont!. I mean you can try to get a gig on a set as a PA and you'll do all the crap work around the set for a while till you get experience to do what you want to!. Being a film major basically just introduces you to basics in cinematography, story structure, lighting, etc!. etc!.
However, what really matters is experience!. There are plenty of people in the business that have never gone to school for film!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

No not at all!. No way no how! Anyone can find work in film!. 99% of the time it won't be fun work or even fulfilling or well paid!. But to give you some perspective, Quentin Tarantino never went to film school, and Chan-Wook Park majored in Psychology!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
