Why do most DVDs come in a cardboard case that looks identical to the plastic on!

Question: Why do most DVDs come in a cardboard case that looks identical to the plastic one!?
Answers:
To make it seem more like a collector's item!. I have purchased a few that had cardboard covers but most don't!. It has nothing to do with protection!. In my experience, they are a pain to get out of the box to get the plastic wrap off of and they are equally difficult to slide back on!. Most people don't want to spend the extra time it takes to slide off the cardboard when they want to get into the case to watch the film, with good reason!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Better for the environment!. Most of the boxes are recycled materials!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Extra protection!. You're adding another (completely unnecessarily, completely superfluous) layer to protect the DVD inside!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think it makes them seem more collectibleWww@Enter-QA@Com
