Question: What are your Top 3 "Super Hero" movies!?!?!?!?
Answers:
I'd have to say that my favorites are:
"Batman" 1989
"Spiderman" 2002
"X-Men" 2000
I enjoyed the recent Iron Man and even the new Hulk movie, and maybe time and repeated viewings will make them climb higher on my list, but for now, these are the three best in my opinion!.
While much has been written about the latest/current Batman series (and much bad can and should be said about everything after the second one in the old series), the original was very groundbreaking in many ways, very dark (I mean a superhero was KILLING people!) but still campy in a good way!. Nicholson was so perfectly over the top as the Joker that (with all due respect to Heath Ledger) they should never have thought of doing the Joker in this current series of films!.
Spiderman showed how groundbreaking CGI effects could be used to great effect in the genre and was a great "origin story" for a superhero movie on which, I believe, the rest of the series has failed to build upon!.
I enjoyed all three X-Men movies (I know most people hated the third one, but I liked it), but just as I sit here and think about it, I think I liked the first one best!. Good introduction to the characters, the villains (even put Magneto's motivation into perspective), and the "political climate" of a world dealing with beings living amongst them that are vastly more powerful than the majority!.
While not nearly one of the best super hero movies ever made, I have to give a shout out to the one that started the current trend!. The original "Superman" from 1978 was such an exciting event when I was a kid!. I think kids today are really spoiled by the fact that there are so many super hero movies to choose from, but when I was young, "Superman" was it!. I agree with the posts here; have not seen Iron man or Hulk 2 til they are out on video; however, everyone (word to the wise) Captain America is coming soon as is the movie about the Avengers and a spin off of X-Men3--Wolverine!.
