which do you prefer and why!?

In general, the original is better!.
Notable exceptions for me were: The Amityville Horror (b/c to me the whole concept was lame in general, but I liked Ryan Reynolds in the new one for some reason)
!.!.!.!.!.!. that's the only exception, actually!. The new Dawn of the Dead was nowhere near as good, but the opening scene was bad@ss!.
I particularly get annoyed w/ American remakes of foreign horror movies!. It seems like they are remaking them solely b/c people won't watch them if they have to read subtitles!. I say, if you're too lazy to read subtitles, it's your own fault you miss out on good movies!.
The Ring(Ringu), The Grudge (Ju-On), The Eye, Dark Water, One Missed Call, Pulse!. All the originals are better!.
I'm actually quite tired of having to find out if a movie is a remake every time I see an interesting preview!. I always try to watch the original first b/c if I do it the other way around, I always feel like I've ruined the good version for myself!.
Did anyone else notice that they gave away the big reveal from the end of the original Shutter in the previews for the remake!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Remakes are purely for those with no imagination or no writers!. Originals have ALWAYS been the best!

I would have to say originals first, and while I may enjoy a remake, such as War of the Worlds!.!.!.There is something to be said about the period pieces!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I loved the Hollywood remake of The Ring as well as Ocean's Eleven, but most remakes are horrible!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
