At the end of T2, John and Sarah throw the arm and chip from the first terminator (in T1) into the molten steel!. This is right after the T-1000 is destroyed in the steel and right before Arnie (that is, his terminator character in T2) has them lower him into the steel to make sure that no more chips remain!.
EDIT - Sorry, I misunderstood your question!. Other than the arm and the chip turning up in T2, we're not told anything (in either movie) about what happens to the remains of the first terminator!. However, a deleted scene on the T1 DVD shows a group from CyberDyne carting off the remains of the first terminator!. Even from there, we can only guess, though!.
**My** guess is that other than the intact arm and salvaging the chip from the smashed skull, CyberDyne didn't find anything usable so they just trashed it!. They might have done something like run a metallurigcal analysis of the remains to find out the exact composition of the skeleton, which would explain that information being available later when Skynet starts building terminators after the war breaks out!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

it was crushed to bits at the end of "The Terminator"!. she was trapped behind a grating and couldn't escape, but she could reach the lever to activate a big smashing machine, which made a big compressor lower itself onto the Terminator as it was laying prone trying to reach her!. only part of the terminator's head and the arm (that was reaching for her) from the elbow up made it out intact!. i'm guessing the chip was in the skull part of the head, as that is where all of the processing was done, and the chip was the CPU (Central Processing Unit)!.
