Does the 1960 movie "Psycho" have a rating?!

Question: Does the 1960 movie "Psycho" have a rating!?
The reason I'm asking is because I want to watch it with one of my friends but she won't watch it if it's rated R
I tried looking it up online and I didn't see a rating for it anywhere!. My dad says that movies that are older didn't have a rating system but I'm still wondering!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Just goes to show how much things change!. In it's initial release,"Psycho" was controversial for a number of reasons, not the least of which was the now famous"shower scene" in which the star of the film,Janet Leigh is attacked and killed!. But what people don't realize is that due to the cutting of the scene, they think they've seen more than they actually have!. She was wearing a sort of bikini while filming,so she wasn't actually naked!. And you see Janet Leigh and you see The Knife, but you never see the knife going into Janet Leigh!. There are no body parts shown either!.She reaches out as she'd dying for the shower curtain which rips from the pole as she falls foreward!. But tell that to the audience seeing it for the first time!
There was no rating system then as such, but it was definatly an "adult" film!. Now,it's almost tame by today's standards
Oh! Don't tell your freind about the shower scene! it'll ruin it for her!Www@Enter-QA@Com

The Vince Vaughn version is rated R, but it's crap copy and not worth watching!.

The original with Anthony Perkins is a classic!. By today's standards I'd give it a PG-13!. It's scary, but nothing like as scary as movies most kids watch now (like Halloween and Friday the 13th!.) There's a little bit of nudity and blood, but it's tame compared to most of the tv shows like NYPD Blue and Law & Order:SVU!.

Hey, TL! What was your goal!? To spoil the movie for her!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

there is no rating!. there is a little violence, but thats it!. your friend can watch it!. it was a good movie!.!.one of the best from back then, especially the shower scene!. enjoyWww@Enter-QA@Com

no!.
the rating system as we know it now was not in place until the late sixties!. so your friend can see it without guilt!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
